The Clairvoyant & Enlightened Times

Issue 10 – 30 April 2017 – rattuos

Now let me ask you a serious question. Say you are excited about a trip you are about to take. You have looked forward to this for years, planned it and saved hard for it. Your partner is as excited as you and you are all packed ready to go. I am just a medium, certainly not a friend of yours. I am a rather odd man with a very odd ability. I may even be a fraud, how would you know?

But here I am telling you not to get in the car. To cancel the trip of a lifetime because it reeks of danger to me. You will not return, you will not make it.

Are you going to take a blind bit of notice? I doubt it. No more than the Trojans believed Cassandra when she told them Greek soldiers were hiding in the wooden horse. They actually stopped her setting it on fire or breaking it open with an axe. Nor did Paris take any notice when she told him not to go to Sparta. Nor when she said that bringing Helen back to Troy would destroy it. It may be a fable although the city does exist and almost certainly was besieged and destroyed. She did her best poor woman.

So what would you have me do? Keep quiet about what I have seen? Accept that I will not be believed and trying to tell you what you do not wish to hear will only bring great misfortune on my own head. After all what happened to Cassandra? She was dragged by Ajax away from the statue of Athena to which she clung and he raped her in Athena’s temple. Then she was taken to Mycenae as a concubine by Agamemnon, whose wife when he was away had an affair with Aegisthus. The queen and her lover then killed the poor prophetess. Surely a warning to future generations of clairvoyants.

Really it is just an example of killing the messenger. However envoys or ambassadors have been protected throughout human history. This hospitality shown to them, and safe passage granted to them, existed at the time of Troy and long before it. Gradually that became what we now know as ‘diplomatic immunity‘. We should not kill the messengers nor harm them in any way, however unpleasant we find the messages they bring. Mediums and clairvoyants are most certainly envoys in this sense, bringing messages and warnings from another world as far as we are concerned. These days of course almost all are considered to be frauds and their messages to be fake news. Well there is a long history to that too.

I would be the first to admit that clairvoyants do not have a good reputation and that those who declare themselves to be clairvoyant or even enlightened are often nothing of the sort. Even if they are well meaning quite possibly they are deluded. It is very difficult for us and that is why we call the problem the ‘curse of Cassandra’. Perhaps the problem is trying to prevent something that is fated to happen. But my own clairvoyance has always shown me something of a crossroads, a choice where the wrong decision has a known cost and the right decision a great possibility. That is the case for our planet and species now. We have at least two doors before us. One leads to our extinction the other to safety. We try to tell our leaders but they get angry with us. Their bags are packed and they are raring to go through the wrong door.

Can you answer my first question? Would you cancel your trip of a lifetime based on something someone like me might say to you?

The Clairvoyant & Enlightened Times

Issue 9 – 28 April 2017 – rattuos

If there is one word that describes our universe and planet for me it is ‘repetition’. It is endless. Watch a bird feeding and understand every creature doing this throughout its existence. A planet spinning around a star – all processes endlessly repeated. I am watching snooker on TV – and have watched very many, very similar games. I suppose it is something about the human that expects a different result each time. A slightly different restaurant, a meal not tasted before leading to some unanticipated surprise in store.

And sometimes there is. We could wonder where Einstein would have got had he been equipped with a proper computer. He came and went even before the first electronic digital calculators. He was just 76 when he died in 1955. We can only wonder where the human would be had he not survived his childhood:

“On the eve of World War II, he endorsed a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt alerting him to the potential development of “extremely powerful bombs of a new type” and recommending that the U.S. begin similar research. This eventually led to what would become the Manhattan Project. Einstein supported defending the Allied forces, but generally denounced the idea of using the newly discovered nuclear fission as a weapon. Later, with the British philosopher Bertrand Russell, Einstein signed the Russell–Einstein Manifesto, which highlighted the danger of nuclear weapons” Wikipedia

Here is an example of giving a child a new toy and telling him not to play with it. On the other hand we have only had one nuclear war and that was at the end of WW2 (if we ignore depleted uranium). The speed with which the bombs were designed and put to use is extraordinary:

“The project was also charged with gathering intelligence on the German nuclear weapon project. Through Operation Alsos, Manhattan Project personnel served in Europe, sometimes behind enemy lines, where they gathered nuclear materials and documents, and rounded up German scientists. Despite the Manhattan Project’s tight security, Soviet atomic spies still penetrated the program.

The first nuclear device ever detonated was an implosion-type bomb at the Trinity test, conducted at New Mexico’s Alamogordo Bombing and Gunnery Range on 16 July 1945. Little Boy and Fat Man bombs were used a month later in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki…” Wikipedia

The first bomb tests we might conclude were on cities packed with people, mostly innocent civilians. What impression must that have made on the scientists responsible? But what they had done was take a process endlessly repeated above and make it happen down here too. Stars explode and entire systems even galaxies are decimated.

So what is it about repetition that we find so satisfying and why are we so scared to change our habits? One of these habits most difficult to break is keeping our eyes closed to reality. Soap operas on TV do not threaten us, they comfort us. Disasters happen to other people. Even the News is like that. Those I know who get ill steadfastly refuse to look deeper into the conditions they suffer. Doctors discourage that too. Do you want your air analysed? Your car exhaust tested? Do you want to know how many child slaves were involved in making your clothes, providing your dinner? Do you want to know how close we are to WW3? Probably not.

Which in a roundabout way brings me back to ‘as above so below’, this time looked at as the spiritual world and the physical world we inhabit right now. Ragnarok the final battle of the gods is a spiritual war that affects the human. But human wars also affect the gods. Earth is a place both inhabit, as is what we call the afterlife. If the gods are at war we are in trouble unless we can make peace for them. The peacemaker of the Gods is called Thoth (in Egyptian called Djhwty who they claim sprang from the head of the god Sutekh). And we find both those gods involved with ‘boats’.

In the case of Djhwty it is his creational boat in which sit 4 pairs of gods and goddesses – Mr & Mrs infinity, Mr & Mrs primordial waters, Mr & Mrs darkness and Mr & Mrs hidden god. These make up the forces of creation so we might see them as some icy comet spinning through the darkness almost infinitely until one day it crashes onto a rock within the reach of the sunlight of a star. It melts and life starts – photosynthesis creates a primitive algae, thence bacteria which may have been hidden in the ice if it came from some other world. Gradually we became sea snakes, eventually humans.

Really this boat is the ‘Ark’. And the Egyptians depict another boat they call the ‘solar barque’ of the sun god. In its prow stands Sutekh, harpoon in hand, fighting off the vast sea snake Apep who threatens the universe and Re. It is the first depiction of this:

“The motif of Chaoskampf (German: [‘kaːɔsˌkampf], “struggle against chaos”) is ubiquitous in myth and legend, depicting a battle of a culture hero deity with a chaos monster, often in the shape of a serpent or dragon. The same term has also been extended to parallel concepts in the religions of the Ancient Near East, such as the abstract conflict of ideas in the Egyptian duality of Maat and Isfet*.

The origins of the Chaoskampf myth most likely lie in the Proto-Indo-European religion whose descendants almost all feature some variation of the story of a storm god fighting a sea serpent representing the clash between the forces of order and chaos. Early work by German academics such as Gunkel and Bousset in comparative mythology popularized translating the mythological sea serpent as a “dragon.” Indo-European examples of this mythic trope include Thor vs. Jörmungandr (Norse), Tarhunt vs. Illuyanka (Hittite), Indra vs. Vritra (Vedic), Fereydun vs. Aži Dahāka (Avestan), and Zeus vs. Typhon (Greek) among others” Wikipedia

Those are not the ‘origins’ as Sutekh came first. Another one missing is the biblical Yahweh against the sea beast Leviathan, also Michael the archangel and the dragon thence St George and the dragon. Another early one is here:

‘They are attested by the 3rd millennium BCE in Sumerian iconography depicting the god Ninurta overcoming a seven-headed serpent.’ Wikipedia

And this one:

Leviathan (/lᵻ’vaɪ.əθən/; Hebrew: לִוְיָתָן, Modern Livyatan, Tiberian Liwyāṯān) is a sea monster referenced in the Hebrew Bible, especially in the Book of Job.

The Leviathan of the Book of Job is a reflex of the older Canaanite Lotan, a primeval monster defeated by the god Hadad. Parallels to the role of Mesopotamian Tiamat defeated by Marduk have long been drawn in comparative mythology, as have been wider comparisons to dragon and world serpent narratives such as Indra slaying Vrtra or Thor slaying Jörmungandr. But Leviathan in the Hebrew Bible already figures as a metaphor for a powerful enemy, notably Babylon (Isaiah 27:1), and also more pragmatically of large aquatic creatures, such as the crocodile, and later came to be used as a term for “great whale” as well as of sea monsters in general.” Wikipedia

In the Book of Job in the Bible we find

3.‘8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to rouse up leviathan’

and

40.‘25 Canst thou draw out leviathan with a fish-hook? or press down his tongue with a cord?…..’

and

Psalm 74 ‘13 Thou didst break the sea in pieces by Thy strength; Thou didst shatter the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters. 14 Thou didst crush the heads of leviathan, Thou gavest him to be food to the folk inhabiting the wilderness….’

Anyway this brings up the figure of the ourobouros which represents in a sense repetition. This is the world snake so big it encircles the globe and catches its own tail:

“The ouroboros (/ˌjʊərə’bɒrəs/; /ʊə’rɒbərəs/; Greek: οὐροβόρος) is an ancient symbol depicting a #HYPERLINK “/wiki/Serpent_(symbolism)”serpent or dragon eating its own tail. Originating in Ancient Egyptian iconography, the ouroboros entered western tradition via Greek magical tradition and was adopted as a symbol in Gnosticism and Hermeticism, and most notably in alchemy. Via medieval alchemical tradition, the symbol entered Renaissance magic and modern symbolism, often taken to symbolize introspection, the eternal return or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself. It also represents the infinite cycle of nature‘s endless creation and destruction, life and death.” Wikipedia

But by 1400BC the snakes no longer represent a threat to the sun god Re, they supposedly protect him

“The first known appearance of the ouroboros motif is in the Enigmatic Book of the Netherworld, an ancient Egyptian funerary text in KV62, the tomb of Tutankhamun, in the 14th century BC. The text concerns the actions of the god Ra and his union with Osiris in the underworld. In an illustration from this text, two serpents, holding their tails in their mouths, coil around the head, neck, and feet of an enormous god, who may represent the unified Ra-Osiris. Both serpents are manifestations of the deity Mehen, who in other funerary texts protects Ra in his underworld journey. The whole divine figure represents the beginning and the end of time” Wikipedia

“The earliest references to Mehen occur in the Coffin Texts. Mehen is a protective deity who is depicted as a snake which coils around the sun god Ra during his journey through the night, for instance in the Amduat” Wikipedia

Which is odd as originally:

Apep (/’æˌpɛp/ or /’ɑːˌpɛp/) or Apophis (/’æpəfᵻs/; Ancient Greek: Ἄποφις; also spelled Apepi or Aapep) was the ancient Egyptian deity who embodied chaos (ı͗zft in Egyptian) and was thus the opponent of light and Ma’at (order/truth). He appears in art as a giant serpent……….Ra was the solar deity, bringer of light, and thus the upholder of Ma’at. Apep was viewed as the greatest enemy of Ra, and thus was given the title Enemy of Ra, and also “the Lord of Chaos”.

As the personification of all that was evil, Apep was seen as a giant snake …Some elaborations said that he stretched 16 yards in length and had a head made of flint. Already on a Naqada I (ca. 4000 BC) C-ware bowl (now in Cairo) a snake was painted on the inside rim combined with other desert and aquatic animals as a possible enemy of a deity, possibly a solar deity, who is invisibly hunting in a big rowing vessel…..Tales of Apep’s battles against Ra were elaborated during the New Kingdom. Storytellers said that every day Apep must lie just below the horizon. This appropriately made him a part of the underworld. In some stories Apep waited for Ra in a western mountain called Bakhu, where the sun set, and in others Apep lurked just before dawn, in the Tenth region of the Night. The wide range of Apep’s possible location gained him the title World Encircler. It was thought that his terrifying roar would cause the underworld to rumble. Myths sometimes say that Apep was trapped there, because he had been the previous chief god overthrown by Ra, or because he was evil and had been imprisoned.

The Coffin Texts imply that Apep used a magical gaze to overwhelm Ra and his entourage. Ra was assisted by a number of defenders who travelled with him, including Set and possibly the Eye of Ra. Apep’s movements were thought to cause earthquakes, and his battles with Set may have been meant to explain the origin of thunderstorms…..As Apep was thought to live in the underworld, he was sometimes thought of as an Eater of Souls. Thus the dead also needed protection, so they were sometimes buried with spells that could destroy Apep.” Wikipedia

The reason is clear. By 1400BC the pharaohs had made Set or Sutekh into a demon because he was something of a democrat which worried the kings, just as the god Amen was there for the poor which caused them some concern too. And the vast snake was already elevated to a position of great authority. In our day and age this is the corporate world. Unless regulated it will destroy us but they do not like to hear that. What we are led to understand is that we owe it our jobs and stability. In reality there is nothing wrong with it until it grows too big. It is always looking for something to eat and lives by the motto ‘grow or die’. This is how shareholders view their assets. Not only must they have dividends from annual profits but their shares’ value must rise every year, and more than inflation. The word sustainability is therefore viewed as the enemy. How can it be sustainable to grow exponentially without end?

Perhaps we could see the analogy in the wolf pack which predates a sheep flock. They will take all the lambs if they can and if they do the flock’s days are numbered. But if they only take some of the older sheep they may play an important part preventing overpopulation, and thus overgrazing, and they will not need to kill so many as these sheep are massive. But they are also tough. In fact sheep are now bred for eating young but they retain the best for breeding. Afox may well do the same thing by hunting ground nesting birds. But what we can note is that the fox if allowed into the henhouse will kill all the hens whether it can eat them or not. That is its nature. It is the nature that needs regulating and the vulnerable that need protecting. Our corporations must not exploit the vulnerable but they are growing so fast and have exhausted so many resources they now are attempting to swallow all our public services like health which the poor cannot afford. They have sold us too many cars, made too many polluting diesel engines, prefer fossil based energy to sell to us than free renewable energy….. etc. and unregulated by an enlightened government they will strangle the world. We all know that but as they employ us all and own our governments we seem to be unable to rein them in a bit.

What we see in those ancient boats is how this is repetitive. Empires get too big. Kings become too powerful. Power they say corrupts especially when unlimited. If we had a million volts of electricity rather than 240 in our homes we would die. The big problem these days is seen by some as the multinational corporation, the one that extends around the globe and bites its own tail. They are very difficult to tax. They are almost impossible to regulate. That is what happens in every cycle everywhere in the universe. A planet gets so big and its gravity so vast that it implodes, explodes. If we don’t cut our hedges they become trees. Our lawns become woodland. Our woodland becomes impenetrable and cuts off the light from the flora on the ground. If we overpopulate our world we starve. When we starve we kill every species for food. We overfish the seas. That is what it means to make war on sustainability. But we can note this too:

*”Isfet or Asfet (meaning “injustice”, “chaos”, or “violence”; as a verb, “to do evil”) is an ancient Egyptian term from Egyptian mythology used in philosophy, which was built on a religious, social and political affected dualism

Isfet was thought to be the counterpart of the term Ma’at (meaning “(world-) order” or “harmony”). According to ancient Egyptian beliefs, Isfet and Ma’at built a complementary and also paradoxical dualism: one could not exist without its counterpart. Isfet and Ma’at balanced each other. An Egyptian king (pharaoh) was appointed to “achieve” Ma’at, which means that he had to keep and protect justice and harmony by destroying Isfet. The principles of the contrariness between Isfet and Ma’at are exemplified in a popular tale from the Middle Kingdom, called “the moaning of the Bedouin”:

Those who destroy the lie promote Ma’at;

those who promote the good will erase the evil.

As fullness casts out appetite,

as clothes cover the nude and

as heaven clears up after a storm.

In the eyes of the Egyptians the world was always ambiguous; the actions and judgments of a king were thought to simplify these principles in order to keep Ma’at by separating order from chaos or good from evil” Wikipedia

They need each other! Of course they do. The light needs the dark. White writing on a white background is invisible. Without elements of dark there is no colour. We need our businesses and our public services. We need our nations and our shepherds. And the blind need the enlightened.

The Clairvoyant & Enlightened Times

Issue 8 – 24 April 2017 & 25 April 2017- rattuos

In the New Testament Jesus is said to have used at least two names for God. One is ’Avinu’ translated as ’Our Father’. However on the cross he calls him ’Eli’ or ‘Eloi’ and asks why he has forsaken him. I mention this because it is important for the enlightened to understand which Gods are invoked. We can travel back to Egypt to find out a bit more. But we can also find this El in other places. The Nordic fire god is called Eldr for example and identified with Surtr the god who wins the final battle between the gods called Ragnarok. Moses had a priest called Eleazar who was his nephew, the son of Aaron the first high priest of the Israelites. This name translates as ‘my god has helped’ and is found consistently thereafter in the bible:

“Five other men named Eleazar are briefly mentioned in the Hebrew Bible:

Eleazar (son of Aminadab), who was entrusted as a keeper of the Ark of the Covenant

Eleazar (son of Dodo), one of King David‘s warriors

Eleazar (son of Pinhas), one of those in charge of the sacred vessels brought back to Jerusalem after the Babylonian Exile.

Eleazar, called Avaran who slays a battle elephant in I Maccabees.

Eleazar, the Hebrew scribe whose martyrdom under Antiochus IV Epiphanes was recounted in II Maccabees.

In the Gospel of Matthew, another Eleazar, the son of Eliud, is listed in the genealogy of Jesus as the great-grandfather of Joseph, husband of Mary.” wikipedia

The root of this name is ‘el’

’Ēl (or ’Il, written alephlamed, e.g. Ugaritic, Phoenician‎‎, Syriac‎, Arabic, cognate to Akkadian: ilu) is a Northwest Semitic word meaning “god” or “deity“, or referring (as a proper name) to any one of multiple major Ancient Near East deities. A rarer spelling, “‘ila”, represents the predicate form in Old Akkadian and in Amorite. The word is derived from the Proto-Semitic archaic biliteral ʔ-L, meaning “god”.

Specific deities known as El or Il include the supreme god of the Canaanite religion and the supreme god of the Mesopotamian Semites in the pre-Sargonic period” Wikipedia

So we might just think the word El means ‘god’ rather than any particular one, however that is not really the case.

“In northwest Semitic use, El was both a generic word for any god and the special name or title of a particular god who was distinguished from other gods as being “the god”. El is listed at the head of many pantheons. In some Canaanite and Ugaritic sources, El played a role as father of the gods or of creation” Wikipedia

We also find the name used in the Bible as ‘El Elyon’

Elyon (Biblical Hebrew עליון; Masoretic ʿElyōn) is an epithet of the God of the Israelites in the Hebrew Bible. ʾĒl ʿElyōn is usually rendered in English as “God Most High”, and similarly in the Septuagint as “Ο ΘΕΟΣ Ο ΥΨΙΣΤΟΣ” (“God the highest”).

The critical scholar and Reform rabbi Abraham Geiger in the 19th century asserted that Elyōn was a word of late origin, dating it to the time of the Maccabees. However, its use in the Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra, Syria) tablets has proven it to be pre-Mosaic (Hertz 1936).” Wikipedia

But some see that as the ‘god of high places’ ie the mountain tops where sacrifices were made. Abraham for example was about to sacrifice his son Isaac on a mountain top. Moses ascended a mountain to get the 10 Commandments.

We might even see this root in the word Islam uses for God – Allah:

Allah (/’ælə, ‘ɑːlə, əl’lɑː/; Arabic: الله‎, translit. Allāh‎, pronounced [ɑɫ’ɫɑh] ( listen)) is the Arabic word for God in Abrahamic religions. In the English language, the word traditionally refers to God in Islam. The word is thought to be derived by contraction from alilāh, which means “the god”, and is related to El and Elohim, the Hebrew words for God.

The word Allah has been used by Arabic people of different religions since pre-Islamic times” Wikipedia

“The first occurrence of the name is in Genesis 17:1, “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am El Shaddai; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” Similarly, in Genesis 35:11 God says to Jacob, “I am El Shaddai: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins”. According to Exodus 6:2–3, Shaddai was the name by which God was known to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob…..The origin and meaning of “Shaddai” are obscure, and a variety of hypotheses have been put forward.

Shaddai related to wilderness or mountains

According to Ernst Knauf, “El Shaddai” means “God of the Wilderness” and originally would not have had a doubled “d”. He argues that it is a loan-word from “Israelite” Hebrew, where the word had a “sh”, into “Judaen (and hence, Biblical) Hebrew”, where it would have been “śaday” with the sound śin. In this theory, the word is related to the word “sadé” meaning “the (uncultivated) field”, the area of hunting (as in the distinction between beasts of the field, חיות השדה, and cattle, בהמות). He points out that the name is found in Thamudic inscriptions (as ‘lšdy), in a personal name Śaday`ammī used in Egypt from the Late Bronze Age till Achaemenid times, and even in the Punic name `bdšd’ (Servant of Shadé or Shada).

Another theory is that Shaddai is a derivation of a Semitic stem that appears in the Akkadian shadû (“mountain”) and shaddā`û or shaddû`a (“mountain-dweller”), one of the names of Amurru……” Wikipedia

We might also note this:

“In Canaanite mythology, El builds a desert sanctuary with his children and his two wives, leading to speculation that at one point El was a desert god…..Before El’s revelation with the name of Yahweh, it is said in Genesis 14:18–20 that Abraham accepted the blessing of El, when Melchizedek, the king of Salem and high priest of its deity El Elyon blessed him. One scholarly position is that the identification of Yahweh with Ēl is late, that Yahweh was earlier thought of as only one of many gods, and not normally identified with Ēl. Another is that in much of the Hebrew Bible the name El is an alternate name for Yahweh, but in the Elohist and Priestly traditions it is conceived as an earlier name than Yahweh. The name Yahweh is used in the Bible Tanakh in the first book of Genesis 2:4; and Genesis 4:26 says that at that time, people began to “call upon the name of the LORD”.

In some places, especially in Psalm 29, Yahweh is clearly envisioned as a storm god, something not true of Ēl so far as we know (although true of his son, Ba’al Hadad)….” Wikipedia

Complex isn’t it – especially if one takes the Bible to be completely truthful and no less than the ‘word of God’. But if we go back to Egypt we find this desert god too:

Set /sɛt/ or Seth (/sɛθ/; also spelled Setesh, Sutekh, Setekh, or Suty) is a god of the desert, storms, disorder, violence, and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion. In Ancient Greek, the god’s name is given as Sēth (Σήθ). Set is not, however, a god to be ignored or avoided; he has a positive role where he is employed by Ra on his solar boat to repel Apep, the serpent of Chaos. Set had a vital role as a reconciled combatant. He was lord of the red (desert) land where he was the balance to Horus‘ role as lord of the black (soil) land” Wkipedia

We might note how Sutekh is usurped by this Horus who is often portrayed as a child sitting on his mother’s knee, a protoype for the much later depiction of Jesus. Horus is never a ‘father’ always a ‘son’. And there is a possibility that the Greek tales of the gods may explain something here too. According to the Greeks the original creators – the heavens (Ouranos) and Earth (Gaia) were usurped by their son Kronos – who is equated with Saturn (Set?) and El. He in turn was usurped by his son Zeus who is equated with Jupiter, hence the Roman Jove and Hebrew Jehovah. We might even see in Zeus the name Jesus and in Christianity we must note the Trinity is the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Ghost. Also noteworthy is that at the time of Christ the Roman empire was seeing its first emperor also with initials JC – Julius Caesar. The State God had been Jupiter or Jove but perhaps it became Mars, the war god from that time. Horus is also the ‘war god’. Julius was assassinated on the Ides of March, sacred to Mars, and his successor Octavian (Augustus) did this:

“Although the center of Mars’ worship was originally located outside the sacred boundary of Rome (pomerium), Augustus made the god a renewed focus of Roman religion by establishing the Temple of Mars Ultor in his new forum.” Wikipedia

But perhaps of more note is that:

“In the mythic genealogy and founding myths of Rome, Mars was the father of Romulus and Remus with Rhea Silvia. His love affair with Venus symbolically reconciled the two different traditions of Rome’s founding; Venus was the divine mother of the hero Aeneas, celebrated as the Trojan refugee who “founded” Rome several generations before Romulus laid out the city walls.” Wikipedia

Julius Caesar would have us believe that he was descended from the gods.

“Caesar was born into a patrician family, the gens Julia, which claimed descent from Iulus, son of the legendary Trojan prince Aeneas, supposedly the son of the goddess Venus

Aeneas is also considered the father of Romulus and Remus and is the classic warrior, so may be equated with Mars too. His father Anchises was the lover of Venus and was killed by Zeus for daring to have an affair with the goddess also known as Aphrodite. But the whole story of Troy tells how the young prince Paris abducted the already married Helen (Venus). It is a weird story and worth retelling that alone:

“ The Homeric Hymn to Aphrodite details how Aphrodite came to love Anchises. It begins by describing how only the three virgin goddesses (Athena, Artemis, and Hestia) are immune to Aphrodite’s powers. She has made gods and goddesses fall in love with mortals. Not even Zeus was able to escape her powers and to prevent her from bragging, he forces her to fall in love with the mortal Anchises.

Aphrodite first happens upon Anchises on the hills of Mount Ida, where he is grazing his cattle, and she immediately falls in love with him. Anchises is described as having the beauty of an immortal. Aphrodite goes to Cyprus and bathes. Then she returns to Troy, disguised as a maiden, and finds Anchises alone in a hut. When Anchises first sees Aphrodite, he is convinced that she is a goddess, a grace, or a nymph. She convinces him that she is princess from Phrygia and that Hermes brought her there to wed him. Anchises is overcome with desire for her and declares that he must have her immediately. He removes her clothes and makes love to her.

After they make love, Aphrodite puts Anchises into a deep sleep and dresses herself. When she is finished dressing, she wakes him up and reveals herself to him. When Anchises realizes that he has slept with a goddess he is terrified and begs to be killed because no good comes from sleeping with a goddess. Aphrodite comforts him by telling him that she will bear him a son by the name of Aeneas, who will be respected among the Trojans and whose offspring will prosper. To further comfort Anchises she goes on to tell him about two relationships: the relationship between Zeus and Ganymede and the relationship between Eos and Tithonus. Both relationships are between an immortal and a mortal and both relationships have happy endings. She then details how their son will be raised by nymphs until he is five years old, at which time she will bring Aeneas to him. Then she warns him not to reveal that she is the mother of his child or Zeus will smite him and she leaves” Wikipedia

‘Paris’ who abducted Helen and started the Trojan war is also called Alexander and we have to have a look at the spiritual tale that surrounds him next:

“In celebration of the marriage of Peleus and Thetis, Lord Zeus, father of the Greek pantheon, hosted a banquet on Mount Olympus. Every deity and demi-god had been invited, except Eris, the goddess of strife (no one wanted a troublemaker at a wedding). For revenge, Eris threw the golden Apple of Discord inscribed with the word “Kallisti” — “For the fairest” — into the party, provoking a squabble among the attendant goddesses over for whom it had been meant.

The goddesses thought to be the most beautiful were Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite, and each one claimed the apple. They started a quarrel so they asked Zeus to choose one of them. Knowing that choosing any of them would bring him the hatred of the other two, Zeus did not want to take part in the decision. He thus appointed Paris to select the most beautiful.

Escorted by Hermes, the three goddesses bathed in the spring of Mount Ida and approached Paris as he herded his cattle. Having been given permission by Zeus to set any conditions he saw fit, Paris required that the goddesses undress before him. (Alternatively, the goddesses themselves chose to disrobe to show all their beauty.) Still, Paris could not decide, as all three were ideally beautiful, so the goddesses attempted to bribe him to choose among them – Hera offered ownership of all of Europe and Asia; Athena offered skill in battle, wisdom and the abilities of the greatest warriors; and Aphrodite offered the love of the most beautiful woman on Earth, Helen of Sparta. Paris chose Aphrodite— and, therefore, Helen.

Helen was already married to King Menelaus of Sparta (a fact Aphrodite neglected to mention), so Paris had to raid Menelaus’s house to steal Helen from him (according to some accounts, she fell in love with Paris and left willingly). The Greeks’ expedition to retrieve Helen from Paris in Troy is the mythological basis of the Trojan War. This triggered the war because Helen was famous for her beauty throughout Achaea (ancient Greece), and had many suitors of extraordinary ability. Therefore, following Odysseus‘s advice, her father Tyndareus made all suitors promise to defend Helen’s marriage to the man he chose for her. When Paris took her to Troy, Menelaus invoked this oath. Helen’s other suitors—who between them represented the lion’s share of Achaea’s strength, wealth and military prowess—were obligated to help bring her back. Thus, the whole of Greece moved against Troy in force. The Trojan War had begun.” Wikipedia

Of course it does not end well for Paris who like Alexander the Great (some 600 years later) died young, killed in Troy. Anyway we may now return to which God is which in the Bible.

Now bear in mind that Jesus was actually said to have been killed by a Roman soldier using a spear to pierce his side while he was on the cross. This iconography is very important:

The spear of Mars

The spear is the instrument of Mars in the same way that Jupiter wields the lightning bolt, Neptune the trident, and Saturn the scythe or sickle. A relic or fetish called the spear of Mars was kept in a sacrarium at the Regia, the former residence of the Kings of Rome. The spear was said to move, tremble or vibrate at impending war or other danger to the state, as was reported to occur before the assassination of Julius Caesar. When Mars is pictured as a peace-bringer, his spear is wreathed with laurel or other vegetation, as on the Ara Pacis or a coin of Aemilianus” Wikipedia

Kronos, or Cronus or Saturn, used his sickle (often seen carried by this time god) on his father – it should be said with his mother’s help. She is Gaia or Earth and she gave the sickle to him to do this. It is hard to determine exactly what happened to him – there is a selection to choose from:

“Accounts of the fate of Cronus after the Titanomachy differ. In Homeric and other texts he is imprisoned with the other Titans in Tartarus. In Orphic poems, he is imprisoned for eternity in the cave of Nyx. Pindar describes his release from Tartarus, where he is made King of Elysium by Zeus. In another version, the Titans released the Cyclopes from Tartarus, and Cronus was awarded the kingship among them, beginning a Golden Age. In Virgil‘s Aeneid, it is Latium to which Saturn (Cronus) escapes and ascends as king and lawgiver, following his defeat by his son Jupiter (Zeus).

One other account referred by Robert Graves (who claims to be following the account of the Byzantine mythographer Tzetzes) it is said that Cronus was castrated by his son Zeus just like he had done with his father Uranus before. However the subject of a son castrating his own father, or simply castration in general, was so repudiated by the Greek mythographers of that time that they suppressed it from their accounts until the Christian era (when Tzetzes wrote).” Wikipedia

But what we see in the ‘above’ is exactly what we see ‘below’. Here we have a President, the most powerful man on the planet, but today he is a new president. Up there they have a chief god, but suddenly and somewhat violently he is a new chief god. So we see how Christianity evicts the pagan gods in Britain, sometimes it must be said rather violently. And we see how the Romans tormented the Christians before adopting their god and installing their high priest (Peter – so similar to Pater meaning father) as Pope in Rome. We might also note how the battle between Protestants and the Catholics may not have been exactly what we thought it was. The new ‘Baptists’ and Quakers were teetotal, almost ascetic by comparison to the Catholics. These protestants had much more in common with the cousin of Jesus – John the Baptist who lived in the ‘desert’ and was an ascetic – than they did with Jesus who turned water into wine and whose main ritual was communion – drinking wine before his altar. The Muslims are tee total too and above their mosques we see the crescent moon symbol which like the scimitar swords of the Saracens looks like that sickle. But above churches we see the cross which is also represented in the great two handed swords of the crusaders. Can we honestly say these are both dedicated to the same god? Is that why there is constant war on the planet. If so we need to understand what the gods are fighting about and why the last war between them – Ragnarok – is so important. But our religions are in denial – their god is the chief god end of story.

In fact sometimes the chief god is described as ‘creator of heaven and earth’ and in that we may see a glimpse of what is behind the creation myth of the Greeks. They only start with the Heavens and Earth – Ouranos and Gaia – and tell that they were overthrown. Had they overthrown their own father too?

Obviously no one now believes that Zeus can hurl his thunderbolts at Earth. Scientists discovered recently that a comet hit us only 13000 years ago and that this was recorded on a stone column in Turkey whose pictures of ‘animals’ and a decapitated man turn out to be advanced star charts fixing the date and the terrible consequences. A layer of ash in an ice core in Greenland confirms this date and how an ice age resulted. Perhaps we should be more careful about upsetting the gods with our cavalier, corporate approach to destroying nature here. Last week a massive asteroid flew past us this week just a very large one will come much closer:

The MONSTER asteroid that could destroy a COUNTRY and WILL skim the Earth

A MONSTER 0.6 mile-wide asteroid that could devastate a whole country if it struck the planet is set for a scarily close pass of Earth.

Experts have known about the dangerous space rock since it was discovered in 1999.

Named 1999 AN10 after its discovery date, and the asteroid is being monitored because of an upcoming close pass in just over a decade on August 7, 2027.

Last Wednesday the 0.8-mile asteroid 2014 JO25 passed us at a distance of 1.1million miles, which was still classed as a close pass.

But, 1999 AN10 will come in much closer.

Discussing the pass of 2014 JO25, a Nasa spokesman said: “Small asteroids pass within this distance of Earth several times each week, but this upcoming close approach is the closest by any known asteroid of this size, or larger, since asteroid Toutatis, a 3.1-mile (five-kilometre) asteroid, which approached within about four lunar distances in September 2004.

“The next known encounter of an asteroid of comparable size will occur in 2027 when the half-mile-wide (800-meter-wide) asteroid 1999 AN10 will fly by at one lunar distance, about 236,000 miles (380,000 kilometres).

It has previously been estimated 1999 AN10 could come in as close as 19,000 miles away, but it is expected to pass at just under the 238,000 mile distance from Earth to the moon.

Experts are confident it will not actually hit us on that date.

A direct impact would produce the same force as thousands of nuclear bombs like that used by the US at Hiroshima in WWII.

But astronomers say the asteroid will pose a threat to the Earth for the next 600 years.

In a scientific paper published in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Andrea Milani, of the mathematics department of the University of Pisa in Italy looked at the probability of an impact.

He wrote: “The Earth passes very close to the orbit of the asteroid 1999 AN10 twice per year, but whether or not this asteroid can have a close approach depends upon the timing of its passage across the ecliptic plane. ”

The ‘gods’ are at war as predicted by the Icelandic saga of Ragnarok:

“In Norse mythology, Ragnarök is a series of future events, including a great battle, foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr, Heimdallr, and Loki), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and returning gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors. Ragnarök is an important event in Norse mythology, and has been the subject of scholarly discourse and theory throughout the history of Germanic studies….The word ragnarök as a whole is then usually interpreted as the “final destiny of the gods.”…..

‘It sates itself on the life-blood

of fated men,

paints red the powers’ homes

with crimson gore.

Black become the sun’s beams

in the summers that follow,

weathers all treacherous.

Do you still seek to know? And what?

Brothers will fight

and kill each other,

sisters’ children

will defile kinship.

It is harsh in the world,

whoredom rife

—an axe age, a sword age

—shields are riven—

a wind age, a wolf age—

before the world goes headlong.

No man will have

mercy on another.’

The gods then do battle with the invaders: Odin is swallowed whole and alive fighting the wolf Fenrir, causing his wife Frigg her second great sorrow (the first being the death of her son, the god Baldr). Odin’s son Víðarr avenges his father by rending Fenrir’s jaws apart and stabbing it in the heart with his spear, thus killing the wolf. The serpent Jörmungandr opens its gaping maw, yawning widely in the air, and is met in combat by Thor. Thor, also a son of Odin and described here as protector of the earth, furiously fights the serpent, defeating it, but Thor is only able to take nine steps afterward before collapsing. The god Freyr fights Surtr and loses. After this, people flee their homes, and the sun becomes black while the earth sinks into the sea, the stars vanish, steam rises, and flames touch the heavens….” Wikipedia

Asteroid, comet, global warming or WW3 – all are too close for comfort. The envoy of the real God has been murdered here and revenge will come swiftly. Humans and Nature are just the ‘collateral’ cost of this completely avoidable conflict foretold by so many unheeded prophets. Nothing can control the beasts we humans have ‘incorporated’ whose ravenous hunger for profit will never be satisfied until nothing remains alive.

25 April 2017

I will continue with this name of god this morning. The Roman God (and planet) we call Jupiter takes his name from the Indo European Dios Pater, literally meaning father of the gods. We might also note the possibility ‘father of the Jews’ in that name. The God of Judaism has various names in the bible but the sacred name was considered to by YWHW pronounced Yahweh but this was supposed to be a secret name. The name Jehovah was commonly used to protect it. The Romans actually called their god Iovis or Iove which we would pronounce Yovay and much later Jove. He was an ancient Italian God taken over by the Romans. We should look at the article on this. He is a very important influence or power even now:

Jupiter, also Jove (Latin: Iūpiter [‘juːpɪtɛr] or Iuppiter [‘jʊppɪtɛr], gen. Iovis [‘jɔwɪs]), is the god of sky and thunder and king of the gods in Ancient Roman religion and mythology. Jupiter was the chief deity of Roman state religion throughout the Republican and Imperial eras, until Christianity became the dominant religion of the Empire. In Roman mythology, he negotiates with Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome, to establish principles of Roman religion such as offering, or sacrifice…..

The Romans regarded Jupiter as the equivalent of the Greek Zeus, and in Latin literature and Roman art, the myths and iconography of Zeus are adapted under the name Iuppiter. In the Greek-influenced tradition, Jupiter was the brother of Neptune and Pluto. Each presided over one of the three realms of the universe: sky, the waters, and the underworld. The Italic Diespiter was also a sky god who manifested himself in the daylight, usually but not always identified with Jupiter…..

The cult of Iuppiter Latiaris was the most ancient known cult of the god: it was practised since very remote times near the top of the Mons Albanus on which the god was venerated as the high protector of the Latin League under the hegemony of Alba Longa….

Festivals of viniculture and wine were devoted to Jupiter….

The feriae of December 23 were devoted to a major ceremony in honour of Acca Larentia (or Larentina), in which some of the highest religious authorities participated (probably including the Flamen Quirinalis and the pontiffs). The Fasti Praenestini marks the day as feriae Iovis, as does Macrobius….

The Latin name Iuppiter originated as a vocative compound of the Old Latin vocative *Iou and pater (“father”) and came to replace the Old Latin nominative case *Ious. Jove is a less common English formation based on Iov-, the stem of oblique cases of the Latin name. Linguistic studies identify the form *Iou-pater as deriving from the Indo-European vocative compound *Dyēu-pəter (meaning “O Father Sky-god”; nominative: *Dyēus-pətēr)…..

Some epithets describe a particular aspect of the god, or one of his functions:

Jove Aegiochus, Jove “Holder of the Goat or Aegis”, as the father of Aegipan.

Jupiter Caelus, Jupiter as the sky or heavens; see also Caelus.

Jupiter Caelestis, “Heavenly” or “Celestial Jupiter”…..

Wikipedia

You will note that the word Iove is deemed to have been applied for some linguistic reason to the god they knew more or less as Jupiter. Certainly they do not relate it to Yahweh. But later in the article above we find this dropped in:

“The Jovian cult was common to the Italic people under the names Iove, Diove (Latin) and Iuve, Diuve (Oscan, in Umbrian only Iuve, Iupater in the Iguvine Tables)….” Wikipedia

If we look a bit deeper here we find that these people arrived around 1200BC in Italy:

“The Italics were all the peoples who spoke an idiom belonging to the Italic branch of the Indo-European languages and had settled in the Italian peninsula. The first Italic tribes, the Latino-Falisci (or “Latino-Veneti”, if the membership of the ancient Veneti is also accepted), entered Italy across the eastern Alpine passes into the plain of the Po River about 1200 BC” Wikipedia

So next perhaps we should look at the name Yahweh. We can note that the Israelites trace their ancestor to Abraham who was born in Iraq but moved with his family or tribe. His grandson Jacob was also named Israel and went to live in Egypt where they tell us the tribe stayed for around 400 years until Moses took them to the land we know now as Israel around 1500BC (if the story is true). They seem to have lived with other tribes in the area for hundreds of years and the first king – David – is dated to around 1000BC. I have mentioned above how the names for God in the bible include El so we must see when Yahweh became the accepted name for God.

Yahweh (/’jɑːhweɪ/, or often /’jɑːweɪ/ in English; Hebrew: יהוה‎‎) was the national god of the Iron Age kingdoms of Israel (Samaria) and Judah, and the ancient historical form of the Abrahamic God. His exact origins are disputed, although they reach back to the early Iron Age and even the Late Bronze: his name may have begun as an epithet of El, head of the Bronze Age Canaanite pantheon, but the earliest plausible mentions are in Egyptian texts that place him among the nomads of the southern Transjordan. In the oldest biblical literature he is a typical ancient Near Eastern “divine warrior” who leads the heavenly army against Israel’s enemies; he later became the main god of the Kingdom of Israel (Samaria) and of Judah, and over time the royal court and temple promoted Yahweh as the god of the entire cosmos, possessing all the positive qualities previously attributed to the other gods and goddesses. By the end of the Babylonian exile (6th century BCE), the very existence of foreign gods was denied, and Yahweh was proclaimed as the creator of the cosmos and the true god of all the world…..

The Israelites originated as Bronze Age Canaanites, but Yahweh was not initially a Canaanite god. The head of the Canaanite pantheon was El, and one theory is that the name Yahweh is a shortened form of el dū yahwī ṣaba’ôt, “El who creates the hosts”, meaning the heavenly army accompanying El as he marched beside the earthly armies of Israel. But Yahweh’s earliest possible occurrence is as a place-name, “land of Shasu of YHW“, in an Egyptian inscription from the time of Amenhotep III (1402–1363 BCE), the Shasu being nomads from Midian and Edom in northern Arabia. In this case a plausible etymology for the name could be from the root HWY, which would yield the meaning “he blows”, appropriate to a weather divinity.

There is considerable but not universal support for the view that the Egyptian inscriptions refer to Yahweh. The question that arises is how he made his way to the north. A widely accepted hypothesis is that traders brought Yahweh to Israel along the caravan routes between Egypt and Canaan, the Kenite hypothesis, named after one of the groups involved. The strength of the Kenite hypothesis is the way it ties together various points of data, such as the absence of Yahweh from Canaan, his links with Edom and Midian in the biblical stories, and the Kenite or Midianite ties of Moses. However, while it is highly plausible that the Kenites, Midianites and others may have introduced Israel to Yahweh, it is highly unlikely that they did so outside the borders of Israel or under the aegis of Moses, as the Exodus story has it….

Israel emerges into the historical record in the last decades of the 13th century BCE, at the very end of the Late Bronze Age, as the Canaanite city-state system was ending. The milieu from which Israelite religion emerged was accordingly Canaanite. El, “the kind, the compassionate,” “the creator of creatures,” was the chief of the Canaanite gods, and he, not Yahweh, was the original “God of Israel”—the word “Israel” is based on the name El rather than Yahweh. He lived in a tent on a mountain from whose base originated all the fresh waters of the world, with the goddess Asherah as his consort. This pair made up the top tier of the Canaanite pantheon; the second tier was made up of their children, the “seventy sons of Athirat” (a variant of the name Asherah). Prominent in this group was Baal, who had his home on Mount Zaphon; over time Baal became the dominant Canaanite deity, so that El became the executive power and Baal the military power in the cosmos. Baal’s sphere was the thunderstorm with its life-giving rains, so that he was also a fertility god, although not quite the fertility god. Below the seventy second-tier gods was a third tier made up of comparatively minor craftsman and trader deities, with a fourth and final tier of divine messengers and the like.

El and his sons made up the Assembly of the Gods, each member of which had a human nation under his care, and a textual variant of Deuteronomy 32:8–9 describes the sons of El, including Yahweh, each receiving his own people:

When the Most High (Elyon, i.e., El) gave the nations their inheritance, when he separated humanity, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of divine beings, for Yahweh’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.

In the earliest literature such as the Song of the Sea (Exodus 15:1–18, celebrating Yahweh’s victory over Egypt at the exodus), Yahweh is a warrior for his people, a storm-god typical of ancient Near Eastern myths, marching out from a region to the south or south-east of Israel with the heavenly host of stars and planets that make up his army. Israel’s battles are Yahweh’s battles, Israel’s victories are his victories, and while other peoples have other gods, Israel’s god is Yahweh, who will procure a fertile resting-place for them….” Wikipedia

Bear in mind that the bible was not written until after 700BC at the earliest whether or not it is based upon oral sources. Even so the El name remains in it. Whether the Iove is the same as Yahweh (Pronounced Yahvay) may be debateable but given the above is hardly unlikely.

Perhaps more to the point is how the word Amen came to be incorporated in all Hebrew prayers and thence Christian and Muslim prayers. It is said that this is because it means ‘so be it’ however all other words in the prayers have been translated and we see the words God or Lord used to indicate Yahweh. Why retain ‘Amen’?

Amen was the chief god of Egypt for thousands of years. Especially at the time when the Israelites were said to have lived there. His name means ‘hidden’ and he is one of the 4 primordial Egyptian Gods – the others being ‘Infinity’, ‘Darkness’ and the ‘primordial waters or seas’. This cannot be coincidental really and here he is hiding in all our prayers. So who is our chief god?

Amun (also Amon, Amen; Greek Ἄμμων Ámmon, Ἅμμων Hámmōn) was a major Ancient Egyptian deity. He was attested since the Old Kingdom together with his wife Amaunet….after the rebellion of Thebes against the Hyksos and with the rule of Ahmose I (16th century BC), Amun acquired national importance, expressed in his fusion with the Sun god, Ra, as Amun-Ra or Amun-Re.

Amun-Ra retained chief importance in the Egyptian pantheon throughout the New Kingdom (with the exception of the “Atenist heresy” under Akhenaten). Amun-Ra in this period (16th to 11th centuries BC) held the position of transcendental, self-created creator deity “par excellence”, he was the champion of the poor or troubled and central to personal piety. His position as King of Gods developed to the point of virtual monotheism where other gods became manifestations of him. With Osiris, Amun-Ra is the most widely recorded of the Egyptian gods.

As the chief deity of the Egyptian Empire, Amun-Ra also came to be worshipped outside of Egypt, according to the testimony of ancient Greek historiographers in Libya and Nubia. As Zeus Ammon he came to be identified with Zeus in Greece.

….Amun and Amaunet are mentioned in the Old Egyptian Pyramid Texts. The name Amun (written imn) meant something like “the hidden one” or “invisible”.

….”[Amun] who comes at the voice of the poor in distress, who gives breath to him who is wretched..You are Amun, the Lord of the silent, who comes at the voice of the poor; when I call to you in my distress You come and rescue me…Though the servant was disposed to do evil, the Lord is disposed to forgive. The Lord of Thebes spends not a whole day in anger; His wrath passes in a moment; none remains. His breath comes back to us in mercy….May your ka be kind; may you forgive; It shall not happen again.”

…”All gods are three: Amun, Re and Ptah, whom none equals. He who hides his name as Amun, he appears to the face as Re, his body is Ptah.”.

Wikipedia

If that helps! I think we should know who we call upon and with whom we get angry when it seems that God has forsaken us. He is the god of the poor and as such must be very concerned at the growing inequality and oppression of the poor in our world. Perhaps we take his forgiving nature too much for granted.

The names of god in the bible ‘translated’ as God or Lord are as follows:

The Clairvoyant & Enlightened Times

Issue 7 – 20 April 2017 – rattuos

I thought it may be worth looking at ‘chaos’ again. One reason for doing so is because one superpower is accusing another of ‘chaos management’ and this is being mentioned by a variety of authors at present. What they mean is the deliberate destruction of states and keeping them in an ungovernable state for secretive or dubious foreign policy motives. Whether there is any truth in that accusation is not my point. I would say that there is already a state of chaos existing due to the very many think tanks and policy institutes we now have in our countries, funded and set up by various organisations and nations intent on influencing foreign policy to their advantage. So of course one might advocate some course of action based on careful thought and models, while another comes up with a conflicting policy based on their point of view. Look no further than climate change for examples. What we call ’institutes’ are in fact glorified lobbies who wheel out their experts on 24 hour news programmes to ‘advise’ us on all manner of subjects. That is modern life and it varies little from what has always happened here one way or another since the human first organised itself and divided the world up between its tribes.

What we mean by ‘chaos’ is not chaotic at all. This discovery was made when computer models developed a picture of what was supposed to be random. This ‘fractal’ showed clearly that what we deem to be random is in fact conformity to a universal model. I will give my example. If you toss a coin that is not weighted to one side or another over a large number of tosses you will find it approximates to 50 /50 heads/tails. You may not be able to predict each toss but you can predict the outcome over many. Roulette wheels have 36 numbers and a zero so over a year these 37 numbers will come up approximately the same number of times. As the casino only pays you 36 x your bet (not 37x) they will make a profit of 1/37 of the total money bet over the year. Anything much different will suggest something is wrong.

What you are seeing is that ‘random’ has a pattern. So do leaves falling off a tree, moths mating, bacteria multiplying. It all seems random but is in fact predictable when we look at the overall model (the ‘as above’ bit against the ‘so below‘). The problem is predicting the individual throw. Now if we apply that to so called ‘chaos management’ we should note that the same patterns will appear here. Break up one state into ungovernable portions ruled by anarchist groups and you will find the same result happening in the next state where you do this to. If there was a threat presented by that state, the threat will remain but in many smaller portions. Thus if what you were worried about was for example the army or air force in some country, you will now have to worry about 40 different ones instead. If you kill everyone, more hostile people will move in. If you make the place uninhabitable with nuclear radiation it will also threaten the neighbouring states and ultimately you. Treat the bacteria with antibiotics and they become resistant. Stop them getting into hospitals on peoples’ hands and they will hitch a ride in on their clothes. It is not random, there is a plan.

Put another way what the human achieves by trying to ‘manage’ nature is war with nature, and of course nature wins. Hitler tried to exterminate Jews and homosexuals. The first group now has its own very powerful nation and enormous influence in the world, the other has achieved legitimacy and much greater power too. An empire that destroys nations destroys itself, if it builds them it builds itself. If it feeds corruption it dies. If it relies on lies and propaganda it is at war with history, truth and justice, which always win in the end. The human is causing the extinction of large mammals and creatures of the sea. It is therefore making itself extinct. Because this is the essence of chaos – it cannot be ‘managed’ and every attempt to harness its forces is doomed to failure. But which think tanks tell governments that dharma and karma – truth and justice – must never be offended, never be abused? None. Not even the religions dare say that as they rely on fabrications too. There was no talking snake in a garden of Eden. Adam was not the first man born 6000 years ago but they will not admit such things. Miracles empower them so they will not expose them for what they are – stories told many years later, little different to and no truer than those we tell our children at night.

The universal law is that if you fire something in a straight line away from you it will come and hit you in the back of the head. It is the law of karma. If you tell a lie you will be exposed as a liar. Neither result happens overnight but both are happening faster than ever before. Today another vast asteroid flies extremely close to earth, big enough to kill us all. Really the think tanks should look at history again. We are in a time when empires are breaking up. Crushing dissent empowers it. Giving orders to nations and citizens that are disadvantageous to them results in a problem for the one giving the order. Regime change leads to regime change. But I suppose the biggest lesson of the times is how chaos is really operating. It is causing the empires to do what they are doing. It has produced the think tanks, put the human at war with nature because that is what leads to its extinction. Our plants have developed their genes over many millennia, every one is vital. To remove or engineer them in a bid to ‘make money’ is not only futile – it is an act of self destruction. To have think tanks telling you that is the way forward is precisely how nature and chaos are achieving their aim. How they protect themselves. Creating world wide terrorism with a burning anger at its heart is part of this. We could not create it faster if we tried. We have armed, trained and supported it in our battle against other nations and now it is unleashed against us. Self destruction and quite ‘predictable‘ except to those advising this course of action in the hope it will benefit their founders and funders.

Today a government has decided to call an election. That is also an act of self destruction and again it has been decided on the advice of think tanks that seem not to have noticed how polls are now driving elections to the most extraordinary and unwanted results. Nature and chaos want the lying oppressors removed and remove them they will. War crimes are not punished by mankind but by the natural laws and those who suffered death by them. There are millions and millions screaming for justice in the afterlife and there the truth is known. Is there one think tank or institute that acknowledges this? Only those with their eyes open – the enlightened.

Now let me ask you something. If you could go back to 1980 knowing what you know now what would you do? Would you buy shares in Microsoft? Bet on the winners of the horse races you could remember? Make millions? Would you marry someone else? Train to be something else? Would you set up as a clairvoyant? Or would you realise that all you should have done with your life was to try to gain enlightenment as that is all that will endure after you die, all that will save you and your species. That is the role of the saviours who not only save the world but justify humanity. Making money would sentence you to a terrible afterlife and indeed a hopeless life. But making money is what our empires, governments and leaders chose this time and that is why we are being destroyed. It is just the result of a lack of vision and a stubborn refusal to accept and understand the natural laws that really govern us.

The Clairvoyant & Enlightened Times

Issue 6 – Easter 16 April 2017 – rattuos

The ancient phrase ‘as above so below‘ is ascribed to Thoth and is a natural law, albeit not one subscribed to by physicists in our age. But for example we can see by it how processes on an atomic scale, in our bodies, communities, nations and world have much in common. It may help therefore when looking at corruption and how to tackle it if we look at the cancer process in the human or animal.

The first thing we can note is that the signal to the immune system and to the building blocks in our bodies is corrupted. It causes the growth of tumours and the theft by them of the nutrients we need for health. It also stops the immune system closing this unnatural growth down. This results in uncontrolled tumour growth, spread and eventual demise.

There is more however and this next part is what we really need to know to treat the corruption. If a cancer spreads from the thyroid it remains thyroid cancer and has those characteristics in its new abode. The spread is called metastasis. Cancer may spread to the brain or the bones but retains its original classification. In some places it may be quite easy to remove but others are more inaccessible or impossible to take out. In its original starting point it is called a primary tumour, the ‘mets’ are called secondary tumours.

Treatments vary. Kidney cancer is not very responsive to either radiotherapy or chemotherapy. It also has a habit of spreading – all our blood is filtered in the kidney. Surgeons may need to remove the affected tissue and a margin but when doing so on a brain tumour this may well affect any number of our faculties. Chemotherapy is not of a standard that treats all cancer types, nor the newer immunotherapies that target particular cells and use the body’s immune system to destroy them.

Of course if we look at our world there are many types of tumour or corruption. One might be classed organised crime that has spread around the globe and drains national economies of funds. Another might be terrorism which can be a local affair, like the IRA or a global war like IS. Treatments vary, or should if they are to be effective.

Money is like the blood of our planet. Cancer can affect our blood too – leukaemia. This may result from the uncontrolled production of particular cells just as the excessive printing of money will wreck economies in the long run. But we can see how if terrorist organisations have unlimited funding they can for example buy nuclear weapons. If their funding is cut off they collapse. Increasingly we are seeing state funding for particular terrorist groups without the realisation that the harm they may do is to our entire body, not just a small part of it. The immune system as in our body is switched off, lulled into some wishful thinking that the unnatural process is beneficial when it is malignant.

Some cancer treatments actually kill. That is known but as they are deemed to grant some small extension of life or perhaps have some palliative (painkilling) effect that is considered a risk worth taking. In the same way certain diseases are classified as immune disorders and these see the immune system turn on the host and start a war that can disable or kill it. Rheumatoid arthritis for example. This is exactly what happens with world wars.

I am likening corruption to cancer rather than infection or virus because the later are invasions of foreign bodies, not true corruption. I suppose the classic corruption in public life is where officers take bribes. It is certainly a fact that once an officer of some kind does stoop to corruption they are likely to do this repeatedly and are open to blackmail to ensure they do.

Increasingly we are seeing donors of various kinds influencing government decisions. That may in fact be legal but in its secretive form is a type of classic corruption too. Where governments or officers lie to the public this is also corrupt. These days they say that is in the national interest which is perfectly justifiable if it is. But if it is in fact in the interest of various influences rather than what we really mean by ‘national interest’ it is corrupt. It is in the nature of cancer and corruption to deceive and the reason it does this is to prevent the immune systems stopping it.

But where we see terrorism we are certainly seeing corruption of a serious kind. By this I mean where organisations or cells attack the body for whatever reason unless licensed to do so. We know we have killer cells in our immune system and they have a job to do. But corruption can cause them to kill healthy cells. So for example we have seen nations purge ‘intellectuals’ or many others for one reason or another. This is a corruption.

At the beginning here I mentioned how the signal to the immune system is corrupted in cancer to allow the growths. This is true in many ways in society. Some examples are seen in the use of scriptures or religion to attack. They will suggest that God has ordered this when we know it is far from the truth. But we can also note how tumours are often first detected when a person starts losing weight for no apparent reason. In society’s case this will be evidenced by growing poverty and massive wealth gravitating to certain individuals. It will be ‘legal’ in the sense that in western democracies we are all encouraged to earn as much as we can. We can even win sums like £100 million on the lottery. But we should also note that if people are starving in our society there is no ethical justification for people to have this kind of wealth. These days there are more and more billionaires, more and more tumours and it is not a healthy sign while we have vast swathes of poverty and famine in our world. The lottery prizes are growing to attract more business. But we are dying.

Cancer is often linked to unhealthy lifestyle, diet and a large variety of toxins. Asbestos can cause a vicious cancer in the lungs as can smoking tobacco. Certain chemicals like dioxin are highly carcinogenic as can be radiation. I suppose we might see this equivalent in our pollution, proximity to nuclear war, reliance on nuclear power without being able to tackle the waste effectively, reliance on very toxic chemicals for farming and even household cleaning and so on. But I am not really equating these with the disease they may cause to individuals. They are essentially a disease for society, for our world. And if we look into them we soon find suggestions that there is corruption in high places that imposes them upon us even though there are harmless alternatives.

We have known for many years that tobacco is cancerous but it is still sold openly all over the world while other substances are designated dangerous drugs. On television yesterday a scientist told us that over 1 million Britons have criminal records for using cannabis which along with LSD is classified with the most harmful and addictive drugs like heroin and cocaine. But we can note that the government charges £6.98 tax on 20 cigarettes. It charges £28.74 tax on a litre of pure alcohol (whisky is about 30% pure alcohol). These two drugs have no classification but are known to be dangerous to health. Our NHS is straining under the load imposed upon it from smoking and drinking. But quite obviously the government depends upon these two very addictive substances. And they have powerful lobbies, lobbies that recently have been implicated in efforts to keep cannabis illegal. None of this is healthy for our world body but just a small example of how easily we go awry.

I mention these two drugs in particular because they were the hippy drugs of the 1960/70’s. I am not suggesting they are harmless however almost all the people who used them were. The hippies, people like Lennon and McCartney, not only preached love and peace but also the search for enlightenment. Why one might wonder have they been criminalised. Cannabis and magic mushrooms have been used by holy men and women, shamen, for thousands of years. Are they really the enemy? Here is a photo from 1971. In those days I did try both these drugs but no longer take any that are not prescribed by my doctor. This was the year when my hunt for enlightenment started in earnest. I am wearing the no longer fashionable salmon coloured jeans and a beard that has come back into fashion for some reason. My baby daughter is here and her older sister with some of the other tenants of Worthy Farm. We were all nice people who wanted to live a natural life, loathed violence of any kind and promoted peace and harmony in the world. Politicians do not like that it seems.

I also mentioned how to tackle secondary cancer we need to attack the primary tumour and cancer type. Sometimes the whole body has to be treated with chemotherapy to do this, but sometimes the primary tumour can be removed to stop it spreading. Obviously we need to know where it is and what type of cancer cells we are to treat as they need different treatments. This is true for terrorism. We can irradiate our whole body, put surveillance on it all, and even dispense a powerful chemotherapy to tackle the cancerous cells. But ideally we will find out where it is coming from, why the signal is distorted that allows it and tackle it at its source. We can also note how suicide bombing is deeply rooted in modern terrorism. That is coming from a very particular source that says that it leads to paradise.

Vast is the pharmaceutical industry and it has a huge financial stake in dispensing medicine. It does not have a huge stake in preventing disease because that is its market. We might note the same about the armaments industry and war. Will our pharmaceutical giants fund clinical trials in commonly available herbs? No – it is not in their interest as they depend on patents and expensive drugs. Nor to see if hypnosis can cure cancer. We cannot blame it, that is not what it was set up to do. But there is a conflict there and we must recognise it. That it is a major funder of politicians is another conflict.

So without wishing to cross swords with almost every institution on the planet what I am showing here is how the enlightened see our world problem and the race to our destruction. We cannot avert that destruction even though it will take us all with it – corporations, governments and population. Cancer does the same thing to us individually whether it means to or not. But the bottom line for all of this is money. That is what the governments want, the billionaires want, organised crime wants, and all the vast corporations. So the answer is really quite simple – we should give them all the money they want while they divert their energies to changing to meet the real needs of our body. A nuclear industry that invests in wind power, not campaigns against it. It is not impossible. Our pharmaceuticals can be paid to investigate simpler medicines without patents, affordable medicines for all. Our armies and navies can stop fighting and start cleaning. And our governments can stop their nonsense and do what we elected them to do – save our world from imminent destruction.

Like mine our Prime Minister’s father was a vicar and yesterday she said this:

In her Easter video message, the Prime Minister says ethics she learned as a vicar’s daughter should “bring us together” as we “face the opportunities” of leaving the EU.

She adds Brits should be “confident about the role Christianity has to play” in their lives and do more to stand up for persecuted religious people worldwide.”

I may have missed something but the Christian values in our home did not include bombing the poorest people on the planet, arming and backing mercenaries and extremists from many countries in the most violent revolution in history against a country where women were allowed both to vote and stand in elections and many religions have lived in harmony for centuries – nor rewarding the rich with tax cuts, honouring them while overseeing poverty estimated at one in three children in Scotland and the harshest austerity politics, exclusively targeting the poorer communities, that we have seen in my lifetime.

The Clairvoyant & Enlightened Times

Issue 5 – Friday 14 April – rattuos

“I told you so” – is a phrase that is very annoying to hear. The great prophetess Cassandra, who was killed at Troy, is said by Homer to have been cursed always to tell the truth but never to be believed. It is not a curse just a natural law that restrains the genuine clairvoyants.

Consider this. If you see something happening and that vision is genuine then it will happen. We use the phrase ’it is written’ for that. But things are not always as they seem in visions. Before the last two wars it was fairly obvious to historians looking back that there would be war, but there was a great hope at the time that there would not be war. Wishful thinking perhaps which was certainly preferred in most drawing rooms to doomladen talk of war. Look at this as it is particularly relevant now:

THE PSYCHIC LIFE OF SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL

We often read how famous and infamous past leaders have consulted with mediums for advice or guidance in formulating major decisions, but how often have we read about the psychic abilities of leaders themselves?

Winston Spencer Churchill was such a man, and although during WW2 he consulted with mediums for strategic war information, you may not be aware of the fact that Churchill also possessed a psychic intuitiveness which guided him through tough and difficult times during his long life.

Recalling the events of the Boer War when he had been captured, had escaped and seeking sanctuary he explained in his autobiography how he was “guided by some form of mental planchette (a Spiritualist tool) to the only house in a 30 mile radius that was sympathetic to the British cause”. Had he knocked on the back door of any other house he would have been arrested and returned to the Boer commanders to be shot as an escaping prisoner of war.

In later years when as Prime Minister of Britain during WW2, there were two notable occasions when Churchill`s psychic prowess saved his life.

Once, during an air raid whilst entertaining three government ministers at 10, Downing Street, London, Churchill broke contact from his guests and went to the kitchen where he ordered the cook to put the evening dinner on the hot plate in the dining room. Afterwards he ordered all kitchen staff to evacuate immediately to the air raid shelter and then calmly returned to his guests at dinner.

Within a few minutes the kitchen area was destroyed by an enemy bomb, but left Churchill and the diners unscathed. Had the kitchen staff not heeded Churchill`s warnings, undoubtedly there would have been many casualties.

On another occasion Churchill went to get into a ministerial limousine when for reasons not known, he instead of getting into the door opened for him, went to the other side of the car where he remained seated. During the journey a bomb exploded on the side of the car where he would ordinarily have been sat. The force lifted the vehicle off two wheels, but again Churchill and the driver were uninjured.

Churchill made light play of the incident and joked that he switched sides to keep the weight of the vehicle down, but he later confessed to his wife that as he was about to get in, a voice in his head commanded him to stop. Heeding his inner voice as always, he went to the other side of the vehicle instead and probably saved his own life.

On another occasion Churchill was travelling to the House of Commons in a government limousine when he ordered the driver to take a different route.
Unbeknown to the security services, some I.R.A (Irish Republican Army) hitmen were waiting for him in Regent`s Park where they had prepared to attack his vehicle with guns as he drove through.

Undoubtedly Churchill`s belief in the paranormal played a big part in the Helen Duncan case in 1944 and the later repeal of the Witchcraft Act of 1735.

Duncan, a medium, had during a private Portsmouth seance, claimed that a dead sailor had told her that a British warship HMS Barham had been sunk during enemy action. Among the guests was a Lieutenant R. Worth of the Royal Navy who discovered shortly afterwards that HMS Barham was indeed sunk, and that the news had only just come through. Suspecting that Duncan was a German agent, and with D-Day not too far away, she was arrested with the other guests for `vagrancy`, which was later ammended to `conspiracy` before finally appearing in court charged under the Witchcraft Act.

Churchill was furious when he heard of this trial, and wrote a ministerial message to the Home Secretary Herbert Morrison; “Give me a report of the 1735 Witchcraft Act . What was the cost of a trial to the State in which the Recorder ( junior magistrate) was kept busy with all this obsolete tomfoolery to the detriment of the necessary work in the courts?”

The point I would make was that Churchill knew years before that there was going to be a war. This is now hidden for political reasons but when Chamberlain went to Munich in 1938 we only had 50 Hurricanes in service and the Spitfire had just come off the drawing board. The rest of our air force consisted of First World War type biplanes. Hitler had been bombing countries into submission and his air force was modern and massive. Had we declared war then we would have been forced to surrender within days. We appeased instead and started the largest plane building enterprise in history. We also designed and installed the revolutionary Dowding radar system. By the time we were retreating from Dunkirk we had lost more than 1000 of our new planes over France but had enough to fight off the Luftwaffe in the ‘Battle of Britain‘, aided or saved by radar. If you look at these dates and figures you will see what a miracle it was we survived without the USAF and exactly how Appeasement came into this. Chamberlain eventually handed over to his protégé Churchill but together they had fooled Hitler and rescued us. Now the word Appeasement is used to suggest that we did something evil. How little people know. The mighty US did not join the war for over three years but is never accused of ‘appeasement‘. This is a table of events I put together:

Lord Swinton, as Secretary of State for Air, and with Baldwin’s approval, in 1934 gave Churchill access to official and otherwise secret information…..His (Churchill’s) first major speech on defence on 7 February 1934 stressed the need to rebuild the Royal Air Force and to create a Ministry of Defence; his second, on 13 July urged a renewed role for the League of Nations” Wikipedia

July 1934 expansion of RAF announced – 5 year plan

June 1935 Baldwin replaces MacDonald as Prime Minister

“Churchill, holidaying in Spain when the Germans reoccupied the Rhineland in February 1936, returned to a divided Britain…..Churchill’s figures for the size of the Luftwaffe, leaked to him by Ralph Wigram at the Foreign Office, were less accurate than those of the Air Ministry and he believed that the Germans were preparing to unleash thermite bombs “the size of an orange” on London. Ministers stressed that Hitler’s intentions were unclear, and the importance of maximising Britain’s long-term economic strength through exports, whereas Churchill wanted 25-30% of British industry to be brought under state control for purposes of rearmament. Baldwin argued that the important thing had been to win the election to get “a perfectly free hand” for rearmament. The meeting ended with Baldwin agreeing with Churchill that rearmament was vital to deter Germany.” Wikipedia

May 1937 Neville Chamberlain replaces Baldwin as Prime Minister

December 1937 RAF take delivery of first Hurricane fighters

“On 3 September 1939, the day Britain declared war on Germany following the outbreak of the Second World War, Churchill was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty, the same position he had held during the first part of the First World War. As such he was a member of Chamberlain’s small War Cabinet” Wikipedia

Meanwhile Britain and her Commonwealth allies were also fighting the Italians and Germans in North Africa and having some success against the forces of Rommel.

Not until December 1941 did the US join the war and only after Germany and Japan had declared war on them

End of war 1 million serving in RAF with 27,000 planes, 14000 Hurricanes had been produced 20,000 Spitfires were produced.”

I would put it to you that our very survival rests upon the shoulders of clairvoyance and enlightenment. The answer to the question asked now ‘will there be war?’ is almost certainly yes. There are innumerable prophecies old and new that attest to that even if you cannot hear the war drums beating. But the real question should be ‘how can we survive this war?’. Sadly our governments seem to be anti-psychic these days as do our leaders. Their real interests are those of the many who are ardently campaigning for war and which include our media. Evidence for that is abundant as the media coverage and political glorification of recent bombing shows.

If you take the time to read how we prepared for war above you will see what is needed now is more ‘time‘. We not only have very little defence in the face of thermo nuclear war, we have an aggressive foreign policy that is driving nuclear armed powers into a corner. When I was young we prepared for nuclear attacks and certainly did not invite them. My generation was well aware of how wars happened and what they did. But our ’advisers’ and ’think tanks’ these days are anything but what they call themselves. Whatever benefits they see in war mongering are completely dwarfed by the consequences of losing just one major city in our country. Do we have anti aircraft guns/missiles surrounding every city and industrial centre? Do we have enough aircraft to withstand a blitz? Have we any antidote to radiation poisoning? Do those in high places have any idea what they are unleashing or are they merely concerned with pleasing certain potentates and lobbies?

If they asked a genuine clairvoyant about where this is leading they would be shocked which is perhaps why we are demonised as liars and worse. The natural law that restrains us in that event would most certainly appear to be a curse because we know we cannot survive as a species, let alone be justified, just as Cassandra knew she would be killed when her city was overthrown, but was not ‘believed‘. The extraordinary thing about our species are the many fictions we are capable of ‘believing’ and how the truth or Dharma is not among them.

The greatest of lessons is how history repeats itself but also how we never learn that lesson. Britain cannot rely upon a ‘league of nations’ to save it, it must save itself and buy enough time to do that.

The Clairvoyant & Enlightened Times

Issue 4 – 9th April – rattuos

When I used to give clairvoyant readings thirty or forty years ago I would see things quite often that were difficult to describe. If for example you see a red sky one evening you may recall the saying ‘red sky at night shepherd’s delight‘. And one thing I would often see or even hear was ‘it will be all right’. That may mean something to you, I am sure you have often said it, but it meant something else to me. It meant that things were going to be extremely difficult and it would not seem that things were going to be all right at all. Think about when you say it to someone or even to yourself. It is usually at a time of crisis. Clairvoyantly it looks like that red sky.

I suppose I can liken that to what I would see that really was critical. The end perhaps. It is signally bleak. It looks like a barren field or tree. Now our knowledge might tell us that this is not some nuclear winter when everything is dead but a normal winter not far from spring when flowers will burst out of the ground. It is not always the case but certainly appears clairvoyantly in this way, that breakthroughs are next to breakdowns. You either stop digging for your treasure just before you find it or you are at the point of that last dig with your spade when you have gone as long as it takes to reach your goal.

What this is really saying is that this point looks like the end, is as barren as winter or as that saying suggests – the darkest hour just before dawn. So when I say it will be all right it does not look like it and unless you keep going it wont be. This in fact was the point at which many people came to me. Their inner lives nudged them to see some clairvoyant like me for encouragement just before they gave up – perhaps on a very important relationship or project. The author who had sent his book or song to hundreds of publishers, always rejected and was just about to give up on it.

Perhaps we might take on board at this point in our history that humanity does not look as though it can be justified. Like our bodies it may have many good points but if our body spends its time being destructive to our environment it really does not help that some of it is well meaning. The human could change. It could abandon its dirty fuel habits and invest heavily in clean energy. It could rescue endangered species and provide safe habitats for them. Tell our nuclear operators not to make more of these things until we have found a safe way to dispose of the hundreds of tons of nuclear waste we have acquired, some of which has been dumped in the sea off Somalia by crooked corporations who said they were reprocessing it and charged as though they were. But our oceans are still dumping grounds and no one will take responsibility or ownership for cleaning them of the rubbish, the plastic and toxins that we have thrown into them over the last fifty years. We could stop making wars, stop poverty, ensure everyone has clean water, food, shelter, education and health care. But we know we wont. Some of us might want that but we are not humanity’s brain deciding what we really do.

Maya or illusion has a very important part in this. We have covered our corruption with a thin veneer of something that looks very healthy. This is why we cannot say with any certainty that it will be all right, that our imminent breakdown will precede a breakthrough. We may be sending something to these publishers which really is unfit for publication and we will never have that breakthrough if we do not realise that and delude ourselves that it is a masterpiece. But that is what Maya does. It spreads its delusion over the whole of humanity. Don’t worry it says to the starving child, food is on the way, but it knows very well that it is not. The war to end wars is never the war that ends wars. It is just another war. We could end war but instead we have wars to end wars.

Resurrection is a word that means resurgence, just as insurrection is about insurgents. The root of the word ‘surrection’, which is not a word on its own, means a surge. The last time I heard that word used was to denote an increase in troops but it can be about many things. But resurrection cannot mean many things. It is usually applied to certain ancient deities like Osiris or Adonis, who die but in some strange way come back to life. In fact I would apply it to Spring. Next week is Holy Week in Christian calendars and is marked by crucifixion on Good Friday, burial, and resurrection on Easter Sunday. I am a little unnerved by what my next week holds in store for me. A spear is used to end the life of the god man on the cross and it is written that blood and water flowed from the wound as he gave up the ghost. That suggests that the centurion speared the bladder or kidney. In my case they will be spearing me in the side too, where I have a large tumour in my kidney. Resurrection comes after death if it comes at all. Resurgence is definitely preferable in my view. But if we must die we need what is called the rainbow body which survives our death. I wrote about that here in December and it is very rare.

Is it possible that humanity is at the point of resurrection or resurgence. It is obviously possible. We humans go where we are led and our leaders or shepherds can certainly take us to our salvation. It is said that we elect them and they usually tell us that they will lead us to safety if we do. Quite how they managed to lead us to this most desolate point in our history is hard to say. But it is in their hands and certainly in the hands of our intelligence agencies. They know where we are heading and whether we can survive there. There are alternatives – we do not have to drift into a nuclear war nor towards a planet that has lost its breathable atmosphere, overheated and whose seas have died. If they think they have better things to do, that political rivalry is more important, then they are not intelligent. Humanity will perish and cannot be justified.

Breakdown or breakthrough. It is in their hands not ours. We can counsel them, plead with them. Clairvoyants can warn them. The enlightened can guide them. But they lead us. Will a justifiable species spring from the ground anew? I cannot even bring myself to say it will be all right. Clairvoyantly that is, as it looks like the end. But it is just possible.

This is the more difficult twin of that ‘it will be all right’. It is the shepherds’ warning, the red sky in the morning.
